Paintsville Elementary Junior Future Problem Solving Team finished 4th place in the world at the International Future Problem Solving Competition June 6th-9th hosted by Indiana University. Students were asked to use their 6-step process to tackle the topic Global Status of Women. During this two hour process, the team had to apply prior knowledge from their research and practice times, to determine the best course of action. While being given their trophy, the smiles were evidence that hard work does pay off!
Future Problem Solving (FPS) is an internationally recognized, award winning program that encourages critical thinking. FPS fosters investigation, ingenuity, creativity and cooperative learning. Teams from the United States as well as thirteen countries traveled to Indiana for this 3 day event.
