Paintsville High School will hold a special SBDM Parent Election on Tuesday, May 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Paintsville Board of Education Offices, located at 220 Main Street, Paintsville, KY 41240, to fill a vacancy for the 2026-27 school year.

During a post-election review process, it was determined that one of the newly elected parent representatives does not meet Kentucky’s eligibility requirements for SBDM service due to a family employment connection within the school system. To ensure compliance with state guidelines and maintain transparency in our election procedures, a special election will be conducted.

Tonnie Walters will retain her 2026-27 parent representative seat on the PHS SBDM Council.

Tuesday's ballot will include:
• Kalen Spencer
• Amanda Horn

We appreciate the willingness of our parents to serve and support Paintsville High School. PHS remains committed to ethical election procedures, transparency, and ensuring our SBDM Council is properly constituted according to Kentucky law.
