A huge thank you to all of the students, families, community partners, presenters, and volunteers who helped make our first SPARK Family, Career, and Transition Night such a success!
It was wonderful to see students exploring career possibilities, families learning together, and our community coming together to support successful transitions beyond high school. The excitement, conversations, and connections made throughout the evening are exactly what SPARK is all about.
We’re grateful to everyone who attended and to the many community partners who shared their time and expertise with our families.
Stay tuned! Our next SPARK parent workshop will be held on September 16, and we’ll be sharing more details soon. We look forward to seeing you there as we continue building brighter futures together.

We’re proud to recognize our outstanding Paintsville Elementary paraeducators—Christene Bowen, Katherine Powell, and Cienna Blair—for representing our district at the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC) Paraeducator Conference in Hazard on Friday!
Paraeducators play an essential role in supporting student learning, building meaningful relationships, and helping every child succeed. By participating in high-quality professional learning, these dedicated educators are gaining new strategies and ideas they can bring back to our classrooms to better serve our Tigers.
Thank you, Christene, Katherine, and Cienna, for your commitment to continuous growth and for making a difference in the lives of our students every day. We appreciate all you do! 💙🐅

This week, five of our dedicated Paintsville Elementary English Language Arts teachers are investing in their students by attending Orton-Gillingham training in Ashland, Kentucky.
Pictured left to right are Julia Lemaster, Britney Vires, Tammie Matijasic, Frankie Puckett, and Makayla Reed.
The Orton-Gillingham approach is an evidence-based, structured literacy method that helps students build strong reading, spelling, and writing skills—especially those who struggle with reading or have characteristics of dyslexia. By bringing this specialized training back to our classrooms, these teachers are strengthening literacy instruction for every Tiger.
Thank you, ladies, for spending your summer learning, growing, and preparing to make an even greater impact on our students. We are proud to have educators who are so committed to helping every child become a confident reader! 💙📖
