At Paintsville Independent Schools, we believe every student deserves a safe and supportive learning environment. During Bullying Prevention Month, we want to raise awareness about ways students, families, and community members can help stop bullying — and report it when it happens.
One important tool available across Kentucky is the S.T.O.P.! Tipline (Safety Tipline, Online Prevention) at https://safeschools.ky.gov/
What is S.T.O.P.! Tipline?
• It’s an anonymous way to report unsafe situations, including bullying, harassment, threats, weapons, drugs, or other concerns.
• Tips are sent to designated school and state-level safety officials who review and respond appropriately.
• It is not a substitute for emergency response — in an emergency, always call 911.
How to Use the S.T.O.P.! Tipline:

PES and PHS science teachers Allison King, Andy Hazlette, Madison Newsome, and Derek Newsome used KDE’s Science Unit Internalization Protocol during today’s PLCs. This protocol helps teachers deeply study and understand a unit’s design, learning goals, and assessments so they can plan effective instruction that meets student needs.
In today's PLC, PHS and PJHS math teachers are reviewing released KSA math items to analyze student strengths and areas for growth.

This year’s symposium, themed “What Can I Do? What Can You Do? What Can We Do?”, will focus on advocacy, strategies to support children and families, access to mental health services, and national initiatives shaping clinical practice and policy.
We are proud of Mr. Baker for representing Paintsville Independent Schools and sharing his expertise to improve mental health outcomes for children and families. 💙

The exam is 2 hours and 14 minutes long and includes English, math, and reading.
Kentucky has now switched from the ACT to the SAT as the state’s official college admissions/benchmark exam, and this is an excellent chance to get practice before the March 2026 state SAT.

Ms. Burchett attended the Kentucky School Counselor Conference last week and met keynote speaker Dr. Tommie Mabry. Once expelled multiple times as a student, Dr. Mabry turned his life around and became the first in his family to graduate high school. He is now a best-selling author and motivational speaker.
Ms. Burchett returned with great ideas to support our students in social-emotional growth, college and career readiness, and building resilience. 🐯

We are so close to having a completed Portrait that will guide how our faculty designs lessons to prepare students for the real world. 🌎
During today’s session, we reviewed results from the community survey and applied them to our draft Portrait. Next up: designing the Portrait graphic and putting it into action!
